A new chapter

Down through the years, we’ve poked a bit of fun at companies who have written things like “opening our Irish office”, or “we’ve raised money”, or “we’re continuing our amazing journey”, when they actually meant “avoiding tax”, or “engaging in a hail mary plan to save the company”, or “we’ve been hired by a bigger company who doesn’t care about our product”.

In 2025, Team Tito Limited, the company, turned 10, which is a pretty good milestone to reach.

We never triple tripled or double doubled. That’s not to say it wouldn’t have been nice to, but we just didn’t. Just slow steady growth, lockdown for a couple of years, then a resumption of slow steady growth. It also corresponded to 10 years in our Dame Street office. A lovely space that was designed for us to grow into. Of course, since we never grew into it, it was simply a space that was far too big for us.

In 2023, I started work on “Tito 2”, which was really an effort to to produce an app that wasn’t burdened by what was (even then) over 10 years of legacy code. My goal was less “the big rewrite”, and more “the small rewrite”. I wanted to see if we could achieve things we’d achieved before that required lots of code, with less code, across the whole stack. There was potential to improve the Ruby on Rails codebase, the HTML rendered server-side and (less-of) that rendered client-side, the CSS and all of its framework dependencies, and the JavaScript powering the app. If the last 10 years were defined by “more JavaScript”, then my plan with “Tito 2” was certainly “less JavaScript”.

In any case, Tito 2 became “IO”, a semi-joke name that played on the fact that our domain name was “tito dot io”, that it was an invitation-only app for invitation-only events. I really liked it as a name that got us from 2024–2026, but in that time, we also worked with some really big-brand customers to create ticket-purchasing experiences that were more branded, more custom, more integrated: more Pro.

Last month, we left our oversized Dame Street office, waving goodbye after 10 years. We’ve moved to a smaller office, much more appropriate for the one or two of us that actually ever goes to the office. We considered going office-less, but it’s nice to have an address and a “second-place” to go to when we need to.

We also changed the name of “IO” to “Tito Pro”. Tito Pro is a name that much clearer states our intent for the app. To say “It’s Tito, but more…Pro”, is still a bit joke-y, but to my mind it actually states much more clearly what it does. Tito Pro technically does a lot of what Tito does, but since you can customize the entire experience, the use-cases open up. Tito Pro has been used for sending invitations to an exclusive movie premiere. It’s been used for a corporate product launch event. It’s been used to do big-brand sponsored music shows. A huge branded exhibition? Yes. Wherever brand matters a lot, Tito Pro has repeatedly shone.

And so here we are at our next chapter. A new office, a new product, a fresh outlook, and still dedicated to the thing that brought us together in the first place: doing good work for good people. Just more: pro.
