The opportunity to mess up when starting with nice ingredients


I started off with fresh runner beans that would have been delicious if I'd steamed them for a few minutes. They could probably have been improved slightly with some seasoning and maybe garlic or lemon.

Instead, I sautéed them for too long with shallots, garlic, too much lemon, black peppercorns and some fresh chillies. All things that sound good but the result was almost inedible.
