9 Quality Events for Developers in 2020
2019 and the twenty-tens are both coming to a rapid close. As well as the lists of the Best Everythings of the Decade we can expect in the coming months, it’s worthwhile looking to what will be the best-of-the-best in terms of experiences in 2020. As such, we wanted to put together this list and share some of the events for developers that promise to delight in the coming year.

1) EMPEX LA 2020
This event is aimed at all Elixir enthusiasts out there. EMPEX LA is an event for developers who are eager to engage with technical talks in an exciting environment.
The focus for 2020 is on realtime applications. The conference promises to mix educational and exciting new concepts with live music, good food, and great fun.

2) PyCascades 2020
Conferences are built to be places where you can meet your peers. We often travel long distances to be brought together at them, but it’s a lovely surprise when the organiser makes the effort to extend their welcome to folks in a far-reaching way. PyCascades does just that.
As an effort that brings together both developers from the US and Canada, this conference for developers promises to highlight all that’s new and inspiring in the Python world.
Set in wonderful Portland, the contingent on the way to join PyCascades is made up of meetups in the region and welcome to all who’d like to accompany them.

3) DevOne Linz 2020
Based on the premise that a piece of software is rarely not based on the work of others, DevOne will take place in Linz this coming April. The conference will be a celebration of open source and all that comes with it.
Settled in the beautiful region of Linz, Austria, developers can enjoy all they’ll learn and the company of everyone they’ll meet in a European Capital of Culture.
The team behind DevOne Linz are expecting some 800 attendees in 2020, but it’s worth jumping on tickets as early as you can as it’s expected to sell out well before the full day conference.

4) PyConSK 2020
Returning to something for the Python lovers once more, PyConSK is another stellar option when it comes to events for developers in 2020. This will be the fifth iteration of the conference in Bratislava, and it’s set to be the best yet.
As a non-profit-backed conference, the focus is of course on the community and bringing together passionate Python enthusiasts to discuss and explore new technologies and new ideas.
The conference’s welcome atmosphere is mirrored in its ticket offering, with a myriad of options open to everyone from students, to teachers, to individuals.

5) CityJS 2020
CityJS will take place next March and promises to be one of the most engaging conferences on the topic of JavaScript in the UK next year.
Bringing together a number of London’s JavaScript meet-ups, this conference will be the convergence of a great swathe of the UK JS community all under one roof.
The conference aims to help its attendees keep up with the ever-changing field of JS and to give them a chance to absorb the collective knowledge of everyone who contributes to it.

6) Brighton Ruby 2020
Brighton Ruby will be in its seventh year in 2020, so you’re in for a treat from a team that’s been committed to excellent line-ups and excellent fun for nearly a decade.
The Ruby community is often seen as one of the most welcoming and diverse you can come upon, and those values are always reflected in the Brighton Ruby experience.

7) RubyConf AU 2020
Sticking with the Ruby community, though travelling to the other side of the world to visit them, we come to RubyConf AU.
Boasting a mixture of local and international speakers, RubyConf AU is a celebration of all things Ruby among those who shape its ever-expanding use cases. Though the focus is on the business at hand, attendees can also enjoy splendid socials at the conference’s opening cocktail party and their closing games night.
This is another event for developers that’s been around for a number of years since their first endeavour in Melbourne in 2013, so those who’ll be headed there can enjoy sage wisdom, and the creations of a seasoned crew who know how to wow their guests.

8) JSConf Budapest 2020
JSConf Budapest is a two-day not for profit conference. It’s run by the community, for the community and is committed to providing an experience that is people-first.

9) The Lead Developer New York 2020
Last, but by no means least, we come to The Lead Developer New York. As the name might have implied, The Lead Developer is a conference series by White October Events. It provides a platform for developers to get inspired and enlightened by leaders in the community in a comfortable and expertly produced environment.
800+ engineers are due to join this two-day extravaganza of software chat and core themes of teams, tech, and tools. From the inspirational to the practical, the Lead Developer is an event for developers in all areas.
